Ehh, not true. Better question. Where was the team during the playoffs? |
|
|

I would see what you could get for Dustin. I just don't see him fitting in anymore and its not that we are loaded with forwards after Sid, Malkin, Staal, Neale, Kunitz and Cooke. |

It's pretty nice when you can have 8 points in 6 games, including a hat trick, and still be looked to for more.
They sucked collectively. |

No one showed up except Staal for the play-offs and even he had his moments that he looked like he didn't either.

Why don't we do ourselves a favor and trade Jordan Staal "for the good" of the top 2 lines? Don't get me wrong I really like what Staal brings BUT...would you trade Jordan Staal+ for Evander Kane+?
This way Crosby would have his winger and Jeffrey would get the 3rd line C spot.
Kunitz - Crosby - Kane
????? - Malkin - Neal
Cooke - Jeffrey - Kennedy (Dupuis)

I would love Kane, but he ain't going anywhere. Winnipeg needs to keep the kid.

idk, i can see that trade happening, the only thing is that kane is probably getting at least 4-5 mil per season, so we might as well keep staal |

I just don't think Staal can play wing in this league. He's a natural Center. |

but then it comes down to either do we want a really good 3rd line center, or a good winger for crosby, but we give up some depth. dupuis and kunitz have already proven to be great with crosby. Even though dupuis doesnt possess the skill to be on the 1st line, he just has that chemistry with crosby which meshes well |

This is exactly my point. Staal would be better off playing on a team where he'll be the man playing CENTER...and I think Winnipeg would be a very good match for him (with a good fan base).
Another point is that some people are saying he might command up to 7 mil./year and that's a whole lot for the Pens... Kane is a RFA and I could see him signing for 5mil./year. |

I think Dupuis can be used on either Malkin's or Crosby's line at times during te games...he's sure not the long time answer.
Evander Kane is not just a good winger, he's physical and can score goals. He could be another James Neal on our team...that would be deadly.
Jeffrey always meshed well with Cooke and Kennedy so I wouldn't be too worried.

I think they should swap Staal for a Winger and give Jeffrey a chance at 3rd line Center. |

I don't know about live, but I believe NBC Sports has been putting them on tape delay. Last night they had the Russia/Finland game. |

Ok, yes it is on the NBC sports channel, former VS. It comes on at 9PM tonight. Thank you so much for the tip. That should be a great game and it will be fun to watch Geno. Will be wierd rooting for Russia though. |

I watched the London/SJSD game last night and Harrington looked solid. He made a couple really simple, smart plays in his own end against a very offensively gifted Sea Dog team. |

the only thing about that is jeffrey hasnt proved much yet. he looks to have potential and could be a 3rd line center, but do we want to trade staal before we know if jeffrey can handle the load. Hopefully he is 100% healthy and become a contributor. I love the depth staal brings to the team and i think thats more important than a winger for crosby, especially when crosby has shown how good he is with kunitz and dupuis.

then play around with the 4th line |
